Feeling spiritually dry right now (of all seasons)?!

It's Christmas.
People are supposed to be jolly and gleeful right?
But you are not.  What now?
If you are not feeling the Christmas Spirit, This blog is for you.

First of all, I want you to know, these things happen.
We all go through this stuff.
So what can you do?
You can be honest to God.

Isaiah 1:18  “Come now, let us reason together,” says the LORD.  “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson,
  they shall be like wool.

For some it is guilt because of what happened in the past, for some, a continuing sin issue, for others the reason is harder to figure out. But for whatever reason you are feeling this way, Here's the good news: no matter what:
We can come to God in honesty and authenticity today.  Whatever you are going to tell Him, He already knows it; He will never be intimidated by it, and He alone can help you with it.

Psalm 46:1  God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.

If you are feeling spiritually dry, may God be your ever present help today.
I found out about this song by Keith Green from Ptr. Mark Conner
I hope it encourages you today.

My eyes are dry
My faith is old
My heart is hard
My prayers are cold

And I know how I ought to be
Alive to You and dead to me
But what can be done
For an old heart like mine

Soften it upWith oil and wine
The oil is You, Your Spirit of love
Please wash me anew
With the wine of Your Blood

This may be an old song, but the message and emotions described are as significant today as it was back then.

Merry Christmas to you, may you be filled with the manifest presence of the Holy Spirit this season; may your heart find rest in His presence.
