It's New Year and I'm Nostalgic

It's only five days till the New Year. I'm Nostalgic.  I remember God's goodness especially in my marriage.

People are supposed to be jolly and gleeful right?

2011, What a ride!

2011 is about to end yet it seems like the exciting things that are happening has no end.   The phenomenal growth in the church, the miraculous provision of our needs, the multiplication of  leaders, the additional staff.  Man! What a God we serve!

Ever tried Kris Kringling with God?

It is Christmas season.  If you are a Filipino like me, you probably have attended your third Christmas party by now and there are more coming up. That’s just how we roll. 

In the Philippines, Christmas parties always have ‘Exchange gifts’ (a.k.a. kris kringle) in the program.  It's a highlight.

You bring a gift. They bring theirs, then the exchange.  Sometimes you are assigned a person to exchange with; sometimes you get to pick the gift you want. 

The battle against sexual sin

We just finished a weekend retreat to help those who recently gave their lives to Christ establish their faith in Him.  We concluded our first day with the session, “Sexual Sin”.  Borg, our Music Director for Worship Services did the session with the men and my wife did the one for the women.

While listening to them prepare for their sessions, I couldn't help but think of the misconceptions people (young and old) have about sexual sin. I realized how these misconceptions most of the time, lead us away from the freedom we so desire to have. Here's what came to my mind:
